About
It all began
in Turin in 1995
On our shoulders a (heavy) briefcase full of mummiform bricks.
No one knew us, but we already had clear ideas.
Today we sell our products in more than 300 museum-shops in Europe and around the world, collaborate with international brands, and remain constantly on the move, looking for new projects and new challenges.
What has changed?
Over the years we have grown, but more importantly we have turned experience into expertise.
Today, we no longer sell (only) bricks:we design and manufacture customized products, create the spaces in which to sell them-physical or digital-curate their communication and accompany them with a consistent editorial offering.
We have connected the dots: what we offer is not a single product, but a complete vision.
What has remained the same?
Our values
Culture as living matter
Culture is not under glass it must be lit, told, shared. It is not enough for us to preserve it: we want to circulate it.
Accessibility without triviality
We speak to as many people as possible, without oversimplifying. Beautiful and intelligent things can also be understandable.
Production tailoring
There are no copy-paste projects; each collection is tailor-made.
Concrete experience
For more than 30 years we have been learning by doing. In stores, talking to people, observing what works.
Operational soundness
We take care of everything from start to finish: products, graphics, logistics, warehouse, online shop. You focus on what matters. We run the rest.
Generosity and human relations
We want to work well, even humanly. We believe in true relationships, in welcoming (of ideas and and people), in generosity: a bit like offering a glass of Barbaresco and two breadsticks at the end of the meeting.
A little piece of our
30 years of history
A few months after the entry into force of the Ronchey Law - the one that gave the green light to private individuals in museums - Artefatto was born. We start small, distributing archaeological-themed objects, and immediately get off on the right foot: first collaboration with the Egyptian Museum, which in '98 appoints us as its official supplier.
Artifact grows and launches a
own product line: Arkè
In a few years Artefatto grew and launched its own product line: Arkè, now present in more than 250 museumshops worldwide.
In 2008 Artefatto entered the direct management of bookshops, winning the first tender for the store of the Egyptian Museum in Turin.
Being in the store every day, talking to people, observing what works (and what doesn't), becomes our daily gym. But not only that: working on the front line also puts us in contact with those who approve or reject products. The museum directors and institutional contacts who check for historical consistency, quality, cultural relevance.
Artifact passes by
distributor to manufacturer.
After the first years dedicated to the exclusive distribution in Italy of important cultural-historical merchandising brands, Artefatto grows and gives birth to its own product line: Arkè, now present in more than 250 museum shops worldwide.
In 2008 the company expands its range of action by entering the direct management of bookshops, starting with the Egyptian Museum of Turin, thanks to the victory of its first tender.
Since then the path is enriched with the development of two other lines: Ad Hoc, dedicated to the creation of customized collections for customers, and Licensing, focused on the distribution of licensed catalogs through an established network of partners and outlets.
In 2023, we will redo the look: new headquarters, new logo, new energy.
Over the years we become partners with giants such as the Colosseum, the Vatican Museums, the Louvre, Lavazza, Alfa Romeo, FS, Campari, and even Geronimo Stilton. We design, we produce, we distribute.
In 2023 we redo the look: new headquarters, new logo, new energy.
And in 2025 we blow out 30 candles! With the same mission as always: to be a bridge between culture and market, between the heritage of our principals and the desires of their customers.
Invitation to Artifact House
In 2023 we bundled up and moved-not by much, 400 meters and a 5-minute walk-to our new headquarters.
Artefatto's whole philosophy is based on making connections: between people and objects, between objects and those who commission them, and also between those who commission and those who create.
That's why we care about having an open forum. We want to see you, talk to you, offer you a sandwich as we discuss what items represent you, have a laugh as we correct graphics you don't like. We want to cultivate the humanity we try to instill in our products. That's why, after so many big words, our invitation is: come visit us. We are waiting for you.

Who chose us
We have always worked with museums and cultural institutions (foundations, archaeological sites, festivals), but for almost ten years now we have been jumping into the world of brands, and recently we have been expanding our offerings to include theme parks.
